Frontier used to be much nicer, but their business model didn't work & they went into bankruptcy, then were bought by Republic, a regional airline. Republic couldn't make it work & sold to a private equity firm.

    The result of all this is that Frontier is joining the ranks of other ultra-low-cost carriers like Spirit, Allegiant etc. This means you are packed in like sardines in wildly uncomfortable seating, pay for everything except toilet paper (pay toilets surely coming soon), but you get what you pay for - a low cost airline. Interestingly, I've found Frontier's fares to usually be quite a bit more than Spirit, & not much less than major (comfortable) carriers, so the no-frills & discomfort formula..
